New Technologies

The new station being part of the larger transportation center helps to makes Bridgeport a gateway to New England. A world-class designation like that requires world-class technology – and GBTA is going in just that direction. Over the next year, GBTA will be installing some hot, new technology to bring GBTA and its riders into the new millennium – Check it out:

Next Bus Departing in…. 5-4-3-2-1

In 2007, GBTA will begin the installation of a new system that will allow for real-time tracking of all of the buses. In addition to helping us to improve the quality of the service, the system will provide riders transferring at the terminal with real-time information about the arrival and departure times of the buses. The GBTA has for its partner in this project, Siemens VDO Automotive Division, a leading provider in these systems.

Wi-Fi

Need to be connected to the web? The New Bus station will be a Wi-Fi Hotspot. People who have a device for Internet access, will be able log on through wireless Internet technology in the station.
