Intermodal is a term which means “between” (inter) different “types” (modes) of transportation. The new Bridgeport Transportation Center is an intermodal facility being built to bring different kinds of transportation together in one place. The new bus station is just one part of it – there are others, too. When the bus station is completed, you’ll be able to connect directly between different kinds of transportation, like:
